Frequently Asked Questions
Has it really been 3 years?
I know, right?!
Is this a delayed wedding reception/second wedding?
Our wedding was in September 2020 on zoom, and all of you made it such a unique and meaningful experience for us that we don’t want this party to take anything away from it.
Nonetheless, we had been looking forward to the large in-person celebration, and so we are using our anniversary as an opportunity to bring everyone together.
In short, no this is not a wedding, it is a celebration of our third anniversary.
What members of my household are invited?
You, your partner, and any children old enough to enjoy live music and a dance floor.
We will be providing babysitting services for smaller children. If you plan on taking advantage of this, please inform Marla and Jason via email.
If you would like your partner to receive emails from us, send us their name and email address and we will happily include them in future correspondence.
The invitation has inaccurate information about someone in my party. How can I correct it?
Please let us know at masonjarla@gmail.com. If we have inaccurate information on email addresses, preferred names, partners, children, etc, we apologize. Please update us on your life change!
What should I wear?
This is a formal event, so suits and dresses will not be out of place.
Should I give a gift? Do you have a registry?
No. You all displayed such generosity in 2020, and we are excited to finally celebrate with you the way we had intended three years ago.
What can I expect at the party?
Appetizers, open bar, dinner, a live band, and dancing. Lots of dancing.
Will there be simcha dancing and what is it?
Yes! Simcha dancing is done by holding hands and moving in concentric circles. Guests take turns going into the center to dance with the honorees. Simcha means happiness, and simcha dancing is about excitement and enthusiasm more than grace or rhythm. Please join us on the dance floor, and share your enthusiasm with us!
See videos below for examples of simcha dancing.
Dancing Videos
We are so excited for both simcha dancing and secular dancing at our wedding! If you are interested in what simcha looks like, see the videos below.
